Accounts Assistant - Plymouth - £25-28,000

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively engaged by a past client, an innovative and very fast growing manufacturing business located in Plymouth. We first assisted the company two years at start up stage and they have dramatically expanded since, hence the need to further grow the finance function of the business. They now seek to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant. This is a full time, permanent position which works onsite between the hours of 0830 - 1630. 

Working closely alongside their highly experience Finance Director and as part of a team of four, this will be a broad and interesting role that goes beyond the limited scope of most comparable opportunities. Key areas of focus to include (but not limited to): 

- Assisting with monthly management accounting and reporting

- Setting up supplier payment runs

- Monthly and quarterly VAT reporting

- Assist FD and senior management team in developing a recently installed Sage 200 accounting platform

- Cashflow forecasting

- Monitor stock levels and investigating variances

- Develop strong relationships with high value suppliers

- Reviewing and analysing production and material costings

- Develop a waste monitor system

The role would be well suited to an ambitious Accounts Assistant looking to broaden their skill set. Applicants may be part/fully AAT or qualified by experience. Previous experience gained working within a manufacturing, FMCG or general production environment would be highly desirable (though not essential), as would a basic understanding of cost accounting practices. Our client would be delighted to receive the details of candidates who possess experience gained with Sage 200 but are also happy to provide full training for those with an aptitude for digital accounting platforms. The role works closely with a friendly team but all employees are recognised across all departments of the business so great communication and team-working skills essential.
